Piece of junk! Had for 1 week and the beater bar stopped turning and burned the belt up. I called Bissell who gave me a hard time & acted like they were doing me a favor by sending me a replacement bar. Got it in the mail, installed it and the same thing happened again after a few vacuums. Tried to rotate the bar by hand and "burned" myself. I'M SICK OF IT! If there was a class action lawsuit, I would join in a minute. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE dont EVER buy a Bissell! Dont say you weren't warned!!!

Through this information, I'm thinking of buying a 2 GB Sony MS Pro Duo for my PSP. I did some research online and found the majority of MS cards on eBay are fake. The price is higher than you buy directly from China. I think the reasonable price in China is between $ 120 to 130 EUR.

I think the candi sugar would be a great substitute, but is a bit more expensive. I didn't notice any off flavors from standard table sugar despite the myth out there that it will cause cider flavors. When I brew this again I will probably use dextrose.

Just a thought on the dyson...I recently built a new house. While we were carpet shopping, we learned that there is no major carpet companies that will waranty your carpet if they know you use a dyson. Not sure how they could prove you use one?...I guess they have too much suction and the the beater brush really beats the hell out of the carpet.

I bought the Bissell Pet Hair Eraser exactly 2 months ago from Kohl's. Today the Beater Brush stopped working. I went online to figure out how to fix this (the engine is much louder now and smells like it is burning) and after reading all the posts, I've decided this is a common problem with the vacuum. Luckily I saved the receipt and Kohl's said they will take it back so I'm going to get my money back on it. Now what to buy in place of it? We have a Golden Retriever who sheds enough that it feels like there are three of him. I guess I'll go with a Dyson. I would not buy the Bissell based on my own personal experience unless you want to spend $150 every 2 months!

That website for eye color doesn't work at all for me. Because I have hazel eyes, and my mom has hazel eyes and my boyfriend has hazel eyes. So why don't they have a slot for hazel eye color? Rather than just brown, blue, and green?

I've own the Bissell Pet hair eraser for a year. 3 mos after using it the beater bar started to slow down. By 4 mos it stop working at all. If you lift the machine up a little it spins like crazy, put it on the carpet and it stops. I loved how it worked at first, but now its just a piece of expense junk. Beware, seems alot of people have this problem.

I just wanted to comment b/c I found your review when googling this vac -- 10 minutes after I got home from Sears where I spontaneously opted for this model. We'd been looking at the Kenmore Progressive and a different Bissell (b/c I LOVE my Bissell steam mop....) but tried the Kenmore in store and it was too heavy for me.

Anyway...point is....I am a Dyson Animal owner and I am shopping for a vacuum. So, my 2 cents is...you are right on to skip it. We won't go back. We bought the hype. And when it sucked it was great. When it didn't...well...it sucked! Your review makes me happy I bought the extra warranty, though. :) Thanks!

I have had this for about 6 monthes and wish I could get my money back. It spews pet hair and dust (and kitty litter)out of the tube the hose fits into when I remove the hose to use it. It does that back track thing with the hair in the carpet and I have to go over it from another angle. Grrrr and it IS a mess when I empty it- have to remember to do that before starting to vacuum, not when I am done. It vibrates so badly(LOUD) on my wood laminate floors that I am afraid the condo owners around me will complain. So I end up using the hose and brush to vacuum the hard floors. Is there a perfect vacuum out there for pet owners? This is NOT it!!!

Talk about confusion!!! I've been researching for 2 weeks. Have a Kenmore bagless and it is a real pain to take apart and clean. I am in my 70's and don't want to deal with it anymore. My daughter who has 3 short haired dogs just bout the Pet Eraser but alos owns a Dyson. I have a Shepherd who was just diagnosed with a nonfuntional thyroid...MASSIVE hair loss. If the strip on the front doesn't seems to work correctly then I figure I should get the 4104. Really wish I could find one with a lifetime Hepa filter. Hoover has one (Windtunnell cyclonic 2). I did find a reconditioned one of those in my price range with a 6 month warranty but am still confused and I can't afford to waste money. Just don't know what to do.

We have had a bissell pet hair eraser for 2 years now. DO NOT BUY THIS VACUUM. The small beater bar attachment worked for the first two times we used it before it quit spinning. Numerous cleanings of it and it still doesnt work. The vacuum seems to go through a lot of belts. The latch that holds the vacuum in the upright position recently quit working also. If you want a vacuum that is going to work pretty good for a very short period of time, this one is for you. If you want something that will last, dont buy this one.

I have had the Bissell 3920 for less than a year and it is worthless. It doesn't pickup as good as previous models that I have purchased from Bissell and the pet hair strip is a joke. Today the hose starting sucking itself into itself so I have no pickup. I find that this unit was a big waste of money. I am very disappointed in this unit, since I have had Bissells before that performed a whole lot better than this unit and for less money. I would not recommend this unit to anyone.

I posted back in Sept. 2008. Never did find a way to make this vacuum pick up all the cat hair without spreading it around the carpet. I cleaned out every hose and filter. I ended up buying a Dyson this year and it is the best vacuum I have ever purchased. Dyson is definitely the way to go.
